Team building in the Yorkshire Dales

While most of us snoozed in bed last Sunday morning, 10 members of the Firstcom team put on their walking boots and braved the freezing temperature to tackle an 8-mile hike around Malham Cove.

After a successful outing to climb Mount Snowdon, last year, it was time for a new challenge.

Malham Cove is a huge natural limestone cliff in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The team chose a circuit that started with a steep climb, going past stunning waterfalls and ending at Malham Tarn. One brave walker even took a dip in the ice-cold water of the Tarn!

Well-being and Firstcom

Nearly two-thirds of companies say that employee well-being is more important to them since 2020.  Source aon.com Global well-being survey.

But how does a company go about boosting well-being? And what does well-being mean to Firstcom?

Of course, part of well-being is to maintain physical fitness, and arranging activities that encourage this is important to us.

Bu getting outside and spending time with colleagues in a completely different environment is about more than just fitness. It is also about teamwork, camaraderie, and social connectedness. For Firstcom, boosting well-being means taking steps to positively impact the team’s physical and mental health. There is no denying that the great outdoors is good for the soul. And with four National Parks within easy reach of our offices, we are in a great place!
